Dear friends and colleagues,

On behalf of the European Academy of Otorhinolaryngology, Head & Neck Surgery it is my privilege to thank you all for your contribution in making the 1st meeting of the European Academy of ORL-HNS in collaboration with EUFOS  a great success.

With 1.450 participants from 75 different countries the congress' success surmounted all expectations.

The spirit of the motto "Training & Research for Europe - from basic to advanced" could be felt throughout the whole meeting. Knowledge and experience was exchanged between all delegates during the numerous instructional courses, round tables, free paper sessions and guided poster tours, as well as in the industrial exhibition.
Many young scientists were able to present their results and innovative new approaches to their more experienced colleagues.

A big success was also the integration of the European Board Examination in ORL-HNS, which took place the first time. Many doctors have seized this opportunity to receive a certification of the UEMS ORL section.

This meeting in Mannheim has been a very important milestone in the history of the European Academy of Otorhinolaryngology and we are happy that we could share this with you.

We sincerely hope that you were able to collect a lot of valuable input and experiences for your professional as well as personal life during this congress.
